Don't Be Afraid

I wrote this poem the other day out of the blue. People ended up really liking it and so I thought I would share it here. I hope you enjoy. <3 font="" nbsp="">

Don’t be afraid 

To let yourself go

To be who you are

And show others your glow

Don’t be afraid 

Of what others think

Just be who you are 

And all the rest will fall in sync

Don’t be afraid

To spread your wings out and fly 

You were made to soar

And climb the mountains high

"'Do any of you remember how great the Temple was before it was destroyed? What does it look like now? Doesn't it seem like nothing to you?' But the Lord says, 'Zerubbable, be brave. Also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, be brave. And all you people who live in the land, be brave,' says the Lord All-Powerful. 'I made a promise to you when you came out of Egypt, and my Spirit is still with you. So don't be afraid.'"

    When I'm worn out and tired, and the passion God has put inside of me isn't as bright as it once was, I try to open the Word and regain truth or I worship. The other day, I randomly opened my Bible to refuel my soul. It opened to Haggai. A small book of the Bible not normally discussed or talked about. I started to read, trying to grasp what was happening.       

The temple was in ruins, but the people of Jerusalem were just going on with there lives. Not really thinking about the Temple. So the Lord sent the prophet Haggai to speak the Zerubbabel and Joshua about rebuilding the Temple instead of tending to their own lives. After Haggai spoke to them, the Lord stirred up their passion and they starting to rebuild the Temple. In chapter 2, they lost there fire about rebuilding the temple again, so the Lord sent Haggai to go talk to them. Verses 3-5 are the ones that really get me. Speaking through Haggai, the Lord said to Zerubbable, Joshua, and the people who lived in the land, "Be Brave". He also said "Work because I am with you.", and "... My Spirit is still with you. So don't be afraid".                             

    Right then, those words spoke to me. I feel like we, as Christens, can be in the same place the people of Jerusalem were in. We can lose our passion, our fire, for what God wants us to do so easily. And here, in these two verse, God is cheering us on. Telling us to be brave and keep moving. He is with us, so don't be afraid.                            

    Whatever season of life you are in right now, or whatever you are going through. God is encouraging you to keep going. Live for Him. Love passionately. He is with you and He'll protect you. He whispering in your ear "Be Brave". Can you hear Him?

Breakthrough

After being board all evening, I sat down, prayed, and then started sing to myself. After awhile of singing little melodies and such, I came up with this little song. It just came to me. It's nothing big or fancy… but I liked it. And I wanted to see if you liked it too. Its called breakthrough.

Breakthrough

Love 
came down

and swallowed me

whole,

It rescued me

from my sorrowful

home.

It lifted me up

off my knees, so cold

and took me in

to cherish me whole.

Just imagine,

what more love can do.

If we believe with our

heart.

Lets see what faith can do.

Just think,

our journeys not through.

Lets wait and see

what He can do with our lives,

it can bea breakthrough.

You rescued me 

from my

sinful home.

Your love shined down

it was a breakthrough.

Just imagine

what more

Love can do.

Hello There Lovely Readers!

I've been thinking a lot about this blog and I really would like to make it grow more. Every week (or two week, depending), I'm going to be writing a topic post called Words From My Heart (such as this posts call). Heart on the Line

She stands

With her heart on the line

Fear creeps up in

The crevasse of her mind.

What if I break?

What if I fall?

Who’s there to catch me,

If I lose it all? 

She fights

all the lies around her,

But some how they seep in

and strike her heart with fear

Then she hears a whisper in her ear say,

“Its all gonna be ok, ok?

I’ll catch you when you fall,

You don’t have to lose it all. 

All you have to do is have faith.

Faith as small as a mustard seed,

but its strong enough to move mountains,

you see? 

Trust Me,

don’t be afraid

Put your heart out and love

I’ll be there with you every step of the way. 

Trust Me,

and I’ll let you sore 

through the star

and beyond to so much more.”
