The Ocean Is Where My Heart Stirs

The ocean is where my heart stirs.
It takes my soul to its deepest depths,
and keeps it there
to let it rest.

I Can't Help It

Via Pinterest
I can't help it
That see beauty where others can't.

I can't help it
That I have a burning passion inside my soul.

I can't help it
That I'm in love with blurry photos and golden sunrises.

I can't help it
That I like pretty things, like chandeliers and candles

I can't help it
That chocolate is my fuel, and maybe a little coffee too.

I can't help it
That this is whole I am. Wild and free and having crazy dreams

You can't change me or mold me or bend me.

This is who I am, and who I ought to be

 I'm flying free.

White Snow and Midnight Skies

Via Pinterest
White snow falling against a midnight sky is one of those secret beauties God has hidden for people to find. Once you find it, you just have to stare up into the blackness, mesmerized at the small joy that you found.

I just found this little joy today and it filled me with wonder. I hope you also find this joy, the next time your out on a snowy night. I also hope you find many others too, ones that haven't been discovered. Especially during this wonderful holiday season.
Have a wonderful night.

Don't Be Afraid

I wrote this poem the other day out of the blue. People ended up really liking it and so I thought I would share it here. I hope you enjoy. <3 font="" nbsp="">

Don’t be afraid
To let yourself go
To be who you are
And show others your glow

Don’t be afraid
Of what others think
Just be who you are
And all the rest will fall in sync

Don’t be afraid
To spread your wings out and fly
You were made to soar
And climb the mountains high

Breakthrough

Via Pinterest

After being board all evening, I sat down, prayed, and then started sing to myself. After awhile of singing little melodies and such, I came up with this little song. It just came to me. It's nothing big or fancy… but I liked it. And I wanted to see if you liked it too. Its called breakthrough.

Breakthrough

Love
came down
and swallowed me
whole,
It rescued me
from my sorrowful
home.
It lifted me up
off my knees, so cold
and took me in
to cherish me whole.

Just imagine,
what more love can do.
If we believe with our
heart.
Lets see what faith can do.
Just think,
our journeys not through.
Lets wait and see
what He can do with our lives,
it can bea breakthrough.

You rescued me
from my
sinful home.
Your love shined down
it was a breakthrough.
Just imagine
what more
Love can do.

 Thanks for reading!!

Words From My Heart: Heart on the Line

Via Pinterest

Hello There Lovely Readers!

I've been thinking a lot about this blog and I really would like to make it grow more. Every week (or two week, depending), I'm going to be writing a topic post called Words From My Heart (such as this posts call). In the posts Words From My Heart, I'll be sharing my poems and songs I have written. I've also been thinking of starting other topic post soon. :)

So, for my first Words From My Heart post, I wrote a poem called Heart on the Line. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Heart on the Line
by Messy

She stands
With her heart on the line
Fear creeps up in
The crevasse of her mind.

What if I break?
What if I fall?
Who’s there to catch me,
If I lose it all?

She fights
all the lies around her,
But some how they seep in
and strike her heart with fear

Then she hears a whisper in her ear say,
“Its all gonna be ok, ok?
I’ll catch you when you fall,
You don’t have to lose it all.

All you have to do is have faith.
Faith as small as a mustard seed,
but its strong enough to move mountains,
you see?

Trust Me,
don’t be afraid
Put your heart out and love
I’ll be there with you every step of the way.

Trust Me,
and I’ll let you sore
through the star

and beyond to so much more.”

Thank you so much for reading!   xoxo, Messy

7x70 Times

In the past post I said that I was in a writing contest and that I would be posting some of the writing submitted. In the last post I posted a short story called Inking and Scars. This time I'm posting my poem called 7x70 Times. This poem is about sinning and being forgiven. In the Bible, God says that you should forgive 7x70 times… and more. In the poem, I'm contently sinning, but every single time, He forgives me.

7x70 Times

1x10 times
It happened again
I bused your heart
But you forgive

2x20 times
You let the grudge go
and tell me you still love me
even though I sinned

3x30 times
This time I left a scar
on both of our hearts
but you heal us both, and we move on

4x40 times
I see your beauty,
Then forget it all and lose sight
But you still draw me close to you

5x50 times
I feel all alone in fright
but I feel your presences still close
As you once again create the light

6x60 times
I can’t believe it,
I did it AGAIN
But you still wash away all my sin

7x70 times
You do what it takes
to forgive

and make it right again

Moments

I wrote this poem for a contest I am in. It is about the moments I love. The moments when I'm dancing to the music or when the sun is saying good night and the stars are coming out to shine. I just love the little moments, I think they are a great part of life. Anyways, without further or do, my poem:

Moments

I love the moments
When I’m with you
Sitting side by side
Looking at the view

I love the moments
When the sun is saying good night
It sneaks under the horizon
And the stars come out to shine bright

I love the moments
When music plays
You twirl me around
And we dance all day

I love the moments
When you say good night
You tuck me
And then hug me tight

I love the moments
When I’m down on my knees
Thanking God
For everything He’s given me
